For those who follow our website and social media sites, you know how much AMTS believes in supporting the communities where we work. Throughout the Holiday season, many of our employees will volunteer their time and resources to helping local charities and causes.
Tony Manti, the AMTS VP of Strategic Sourcing, and family volunteered during the Thanksgiving weekend helping the Travis County Brown Santa program.
Travis County started its Brown Santa program in 1981 with a handful of deputies helping about 25 families in unincorporated areas of the county. The name refers to the brown uniforms of deputies who help Santa Claus with his responsibilities. The charity delivers a holiday meal and a box of toys to roughly 2,000 Travis County families who have applied and are at, or below, the federal poverty level.
“We spent some time volunteering with the Brown Santa program over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. My wife and myself, mother-in-law, and our three kids wrapped presents and packed them up for Santa to deliver to numerous families in the Austin area,” says Manti. “It’s important to pitch in and support those who are less fortunate – especially through the Holidays.”
