AM Technical Solutions (AM) has extensive experience collaborating with semiconductor companies to support comprehensive evaluations of their facilities. We were recently awarded significant project scope to provide a Global Facilities Critical Infrastructure Assessment (GFCIA) for a company’s Wafer Manufacturing Fabs and Assembly & Test Sites.
The multi-year facility project includes our subject matter experts (SMEs) undertaking thorough, on-site observations and walk-throughs to evaluate the condition of each facility. Their recommendations will support our final assessment of each facility’s condition.
Ultimately, we will arrive at clear conclusions about potential failure mechanisms and provide written recommendations to mitigate any identified risks for critical infrastructure at our client’s current industrial locations.
Although the semiconductor company is highly successful and has done an extensive evaluation themselves, they would like an additional team of experts to conduct a fresh evaluation. Business continuity is critical for our client. We anticipate delivering meaningful and actionable reports to help maintain the company’s business and ongoing operations.
Key Project Scope for the Critical Infrastructure Assessment
We will leverage our extensive experience with facilities that support Wafer production, Wafer Fab, Test, Assembly, and Packaging to make the appropriate recommendations to our client.
Our SMEs will visit several of our client’s domestic and international facilities over a two-year period. We will tour the facility, evaluate the equipment, and review other critical aspects of each industrial location.
During these physical trips, we will carefully examine and document each facility’s infrastructure, assess current conditions, examine maintenance records, and talk to key staff about the operations. We will work with all key stakeholders and personnel for each project site to be surveyed to accomplish the following project deliverables:
- Provide an executive summary of findings for each facility, including a 5-year budget forecast of capital and expense remediation costs.
- Assess multiple capital systems/items requested by our client.
- Propose a CAPEX plan to remedy each facility that includes reasonable cost estimate ranges.
- Summarize the risks at each facility and provide a recommendation to address each risk.
- Graph the Risk Prevention Number (RPN) by system for each surveyed location for site comparisons, enabling the prioritization of remediation and/or upgrades.
- Provide additional graphs that visually compare each facility against all surveyed sites.
We will provide comprehensive support throughout the duration of the project. On the ground, our team is accustomed to working closely with each client’s on-site personnel and facility leaders to review and understand the challenges faced at each site.
Additionally, our team is capable of working closely with our client’s capital expenditure representatives to develop CAPEX strategies for both short and long-term planning to develop a strategic plan for updating each facility.
