AMTS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Engineer to join our A&E team focused on the design of high-tech facilities (i.e. semi-conductor, labs, solar cell fabs, R&D, etc.). As an Industrial Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing various advanced models for space, cost/output, tool/fab capacity, staffing and utility requirements, in addition in this position be responsible for tool/associated areas, code compliances, operations philosophy/process and automation approach. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing processes, workflows, and resource allocation to enhance productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness in semiconductor manufacturing environments.

Roles and Responsibilities

High-tech Facility Layout and Design:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemical/mechanical/electrical engineers, architects, and equipment suppliers, to model, design and optimize the production or lab facilities and cleanrooms.
  • Develop detailed floor plans, equipment placements, and utilities distribution to ensure optimal space utilization, smooth workflow, compliance with building codes, safety and insurance requirements.

Process Flow Optimization:

  • Analyze the manufacturing and maintenance processes flows and procedures within the facility to identify bottlenecks, constraints, safety and potential improvements.
  • Propose and implement optimized process flows to enhance productivity, reduce cycle times, and increase throughput.

Capacity Planning and Resource Allocation:

  • Conduct capacity planning analysis to determine the optimal utilization of tools, space and staff.
  • Develop strategies to accommodate future expansion and scalability while maintaining efficient operations.

Ergonomics and Safety:

  • Ensure that the facility’s layout and equipment placement adhere to ergonomic standards, promoting a safe and healthy working environment for employees.
  • Collaborate with safety professionals to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards within the
    facility design.

Data Analysis and Performance Metrics:

  • Utilize data-driven analysis and modeling techniques to evaluate the performance of the facility, identifying areas for improvement and implementing creative solutions.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure the facility’s operational efficiency and utilization.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency:

  • Work towards sustainable facility designs that minimize environmental impact and promote energy efficiency in the manufacturing process.
  • Identify opportunities to implement green technologies and sustainable practices in facility operations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in facility design, processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in semiconductor manufacturing.

Position Requirements

  • Proven experience in high-tech manufacturing with semiconductor operations experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in ACAD, Revit, Navsworks and discrete event simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor/solar cell manufacturing processes and cleanroom and utility requirements.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, ergonomic principles and building codes applicable to high-tech manufacturing facilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and energy-efficient design concepts is a plus.
