AMTS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Engineer to join our A&E team focused on the design of high-tech facilities (i.e. semi-conductor, labs, solar cell fabs, R&D, etc.). As an Industrial Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing various advanced models for space, cost/output, tool/fab capacity, staffing and utility requirements, in addition in this position be responsible for tool/associated areas, code compliances, operations philosophy/process and automation approach. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing processes, workflows, and resource allocation to enhance productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Roles and Responsibilities
High-tech Facility Layout and Design:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemical/mechanical/electrical engineers, architects, and equipment suppliers, to model, design and optimize the production or lab facilities and cleanrooms.
- Develop detailed floor plans, equipment placements, and utilities distribution to ensure optimal space utilization, smooth workflow, compliance with building codes, safety and insurance requirements.
Process Flow Optimization:
- Analyze the manufacturing and maintenance processes flows and procedures within the facility to identify bottlenecks, constraints, safety and potential improvements.
- Propose and implement optimized process flows to enhance productivity, reduce cycle times, and increase throughput.
Capacity Planning and Resource Allocation:
- Conduct capacity planning analysis to determine the optimal utilization of tools, space and staff.
- Develop strategies to accommodate future expansion and scalability while maintaining efficient operations.
Ergonomics and Safety:
- Ensure that the facility’s layout and equipment placement adhere to ergonomic standards, promoting a safe and healthy working environment for employees.
- Collaborate with safety professionals to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards within the
facility design.
Data Analysis and Performance Metrics:
- Utilize data-driven analysis and modeling techniques to evaluate the performance of the facility, identifying areas for improvement and implementing creative solutions.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and measure the facility’s operational efficiency and utilization.
Sustainability and Energy Efficiency:
- Work towards sustainable facility designs that minimize environmental impact and promote energy efficiency in the manufacturing process.
- Identify opportunities to implement green technologies and sustainable practices in facility operations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in facility design, processes, and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in semiconductor manufacturing.
Position Requirements
- Proven experience in high-tech manufacturing with semiconductor operations experience preferred.
- Proficiency in ACAD, Revit, Navsworks and discrete event simulation software.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor/solar cell manufacturing processes and cleanroom and utility requirements.
- Knowledge of safety standards, ergonomic principles and building codes applicable to high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of sustainability principles and energy-efficient design concepts is a plus.
Education & Experience
Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Operations Research. Master’s degree preferred.
