4:12 Kids is a non-profit organization that is near and dear to our company. AM employees Charity Kittrell and Kevin Kittrell run 4:12 Kids to help reach families that are economically disadvantaged in Central Texas. The organization ensures that each child has the opportunity to have experiences they may not be able to have because of their economic status.
In April, 4:12 Kids held an Easter Eggstravaganza that gave more than 300 children the opportunity to participate in a unique Easter Egg hunt experience. The event on Saturday, April 3rd featured kids ranging from infant crawlers to 12 years old chasing down m
ore than 8,500+ eggs scattered across the lawn.
Each egg was filled with candy or a toy, plus there were 35 golden eggs that finders could trade in for a special prize. Adding to the excitement was a games station sponsored by a local dentist office, a rubber duck pond, and a special visit from the Easter bunny.
This year’s Easter Eggstravaganza was especially impactful because of the opportunity to re-connect with kids and families one year removed from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We tried to host a community Easter event last year, but COVID-19 shut us down,” says Kevin Kittrell, 4:12 Kids Board Member and AM employee. “While we still couldn’t have the big event like we wanted to this year, we felt it was important to do at least something for kids to get them going towards normalcy. This year, it was nice to see so many smiles and hear the laughter; something that has been missing for some time.”
Other Ways 4:12 Kids is Serving the Community
4:12 Kids is continuing to impact families in and around Lockhart, Texas, through community involvement and special events.
– In April, 4:12 Kids also hosted a prom event where local high school students could come shop for a dress, shoes, suit, and other accessories free of charge. Thanks to generous donations from individuals and organizations throughout Central Texas, students in need of clothing items were able to select from more than 200 items to wear during their prom.
– In July, 4:12 Kids will be hosting the concert event of the summer in Lockhart called “Jesus in a Small Town.” The concert and school supply drive on Saturday, July 10th, will feature amazing artists Unspoken, Building 429, LightWater, and Samuel Wilco from “The Voice.”
The event will take place at the Lockhart Junior High Football Complex (500 City Line Road, Lockhart, TX). Attendees that bring a donation of new school supplies will be entered to win a pair of front-row seats for the concert.
