Today, we are spotlighting Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a wonderful organization that helps families during their healthcare journey. The program is designed to reduce the burden on families when they must travel to access specific medical care for their children.
How Ronald McDonald House is Making an Impact
Over the past 50 years, RMHC has focused on a central mission to provide care to families so they can care for their children during difficult medical hardships. The organization is driven by three core programs:
- Ronald McDonald House Programs – access to a local place to stay while a child receives medical care.
- Ronald McDonald Family Room programs – dedicated space in the hospital while a child receives ongoing care.
- Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Programs – a mobile outreach program that connects with families in underserved areas.
RMHC provides these programs in the U.S. and worldwide. The organization’s amazing reach extends from North America to continents such as South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
In total, RMHC provides 690+ programs in 62 countries/regions. They have amassed a small army of 152,000 volunteers who provide specific services to families in need of a helping hand during extremely difficult times.
However, there is still a significant need for help. For example, there are not enough sleeping rooms for families around the world, resulting in 138,000+ families being turned away each year. We want to do our part to help create better situations for struggling families.
