AM Technical Solutions (AMTS) executive Tim Glasson and his son, Cole Glasson, recently completed an important mission trip to Mexico serving at-risk children.
Tim and Cole traveled to Mazatlan, Mexico, with the Back2Back ministry, which meets the spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social needs of children in orphanages.
The ministry’s goal is to break the cycle of poverty in impoverished communities and bring sustainable change to orphans. The Glassons were thrilled for this opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus giving back to children in need.
What Was Included on the Mexico Mission Trip?
Tim and Cole Glasson joined several other ministry partners traveling to Mazatlan to provide hope and assistance to vulnerable children — many of whom were abandoned because of special needs.
The mission included stops at several children’s homes in the area, where the Glassons and other volunteers worked hard to create a better home for these precious boys and girls.
The work included cleaning up trash, building new structures, digging up gravel, painting new walls, and other critical labor projects needed in the communities.
Through this work, the Glassons saw the true meaning of the Back2Back ministry mission statement, which comes from Galatians Ch. 6: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
The Mission Trip Also Met Spiritual Needs
The orphaned children in Mazatlan needed more than a new home or painted walls; they needed hope through the love of Jesus Christ.
The Glassons and the ministry team were humbled by the response to the worship services, education programs, and water baptism. Tim and Cole were overjoyed to see so many hearts filled with love and happiness after these children mostly experienced pain and loneliness in their young lives.
These children are precious and now have a greater opportunity to live out their lives joyfully and in the love of Christ. Tim and Cole are proud to have taken part in this mission trip to Mexico to give back to the children in Mazatlan.
