Mid-year 2013, AMTS started work at the first 90nm manufacturing facility in the Russian Federation. The existing engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) solution has been progressing according to plan, and in some cases have surpassed expectations, and in May 2014, AMTS was awarded an expanded scope that now also includes the Base Build program.
“The client wanted to do a complete technology conversion from a 130nm to 90nm facility, so we have had to be strategic in our approach. That type of conversion is drastic and takes strong collaboration between our teams, our client, as well as the other vendors involved. Ultimately, we wanted to surpass expectations and gain the confidence of all parties involved,” says Stephen Poindexter, Chief Operating Officer.
“When we sat down with the client to talk about Base Build, we took that same strategic approach. We listened to some of the existing issues, and then provided some recommendations for improvements to the program that the client really liked. Because of the track record we built, the client felt we were well-suited to handle all of their technology programs and implementation, from Base Build to tool hook-up to tool services”, concludes Poindexter.
