AM Technical Solutions (AMTS) and Soldiers For Faith (SFF) donated a thousand dollars worth of new books for the Research Triangle Park’s (RTP) Books on Break Program. The annual campaign aims to place books in the hands of students in need for use over the summer break.
Books in the home are the single biggest predictor of a child’s academic success, yet more than half of America’s low-income kids do not own a single book, setting them up to fail in school and to perpetuate the cycle of poverty.
Every single book was Christian-based to align with our company values. The books were purchased from Family Christian store and this purchase also helped orphaned children through The James Fund.
“We are pleased to be involved with two great organizations in the Research Triangle area,” says Jim Hubbard, AMTS Director of East Coast Operations. “The fact that this donation not only helped the Books on Break program, but also a local family Christian bookstore and orphaned children is very pleasing to our team.”
For those interested, there are a few easy ways to participate:
Buy books from Books on Break’s Amazon wish list and have them shipped directly to the RTP collection site (be sure to include the name of your company/employer in the gift message).

If you live in the Chapel Hill area, simply drop your book donations in the specially marked bins located at RTP Headquarters between now and May 15th at 12 Davis Drive.
The organization needs books for elementary school children (1st through 6th grade), from picture books to chapter books. And we are grateful for both new books and gently used books that your kids may have outgrown.
