AM Technical Solutions (AM) proudly works with innovators in the healthcare space who require advanced facilities to perform critical testing. We recently won a project to support a healthcare company that plans to build a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory in the Southwest U.S. region.
Our client is aiming to transform an existing building into a forensic lab. The facility will be used for a vast array of forensic testing and analysis, including specialties in DNA, medical and wellness diagnostics, occupational and workplace testing, and emerging services.
We will provide an architectural program, including a feasibility study, to ensure the safe construction of the repurposed building. Through precise planning and expert high-tech construction services, we will assist our client with necessary due diligence.

Our Scope and Timeline for the Forensic Lab Project
Our scope of work is rooted in a systematic approach to ensure the successful design and construction of the forensic laboratory. We will follow industry standards and our proven project execution process to ensure the following deliverables are met:
- Review and Analysis: We will review the site data provided by the client to assess existing conditions, ensuring a strong foundation for our planning efforts.
- Spatial Requirements: We will evaluate lab-related tests and determine the preliminary spatial needs, including critical adjacencies and separations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: By collaborating closely with the client’s key users and stakeholders, we ensure the laboratory’s design aligns with the client’s operational requirements.
- Room Data Sheets: We will generate detailed Room Data Sheets that capture the system requirements for major areas, such as labs, office and administrative zones, MEP support spaces, storage, and circulation areas.
- Preliminary Layout Design: We will prepare a high-level blocking layout of the facility to support seamless alignment with industry standards for forensic labs.
We are committed to completing this project in a timely and effective manner. The feasibility study is approximately five weeks, which will require efficient planning and execution on a compressed schedule. The timeline includes the following key milestones.
- Weeks 1–3: Support mobilization, documentation review, stakeholder meetings, and generation of deliverables.
- Week 4: Review the deliverables with our client.
- Week 5: Conduct a final meeting with the client to determine next steps.
To meet the project requirements, we will provide high-level employees and subject matter experts (SMEs), led by a highly qualified Project Manager, Engineer, and Designer. These individuals possess valuable expertise to implement our process, resolve any issues that may arise, and communicate effectively with our client to keep the project on track.
