AM Technical Solutions (AM) reached a key milestone in our support of the semiconductor industry in India. We recently helped complete the successful move-in of the first production tool into a state-of-the-art cleanroom.
This achievement is a turning point not just for our team and our client, but for the entire region. As part of a major greenfield semiconductor fab build, the semiconductor tool install signifies tangible progress toward creating a world-class manufacturing facility that will fuel future innovation and economic growth.

Solving Complex Issues to Support the Semiconductor Tool Install
Getting to this point of the first tool install was challenging. This project is the first of its kind in the region, and bringing together a new construction team for such a technically demanding effort came with multiple hurdles to overcome.
Our role was to provide the expertise and structure needed to align all workstreams and maintain forward momentum – without compromising on safety, quality, budget, or schedule. To support coordination, we implemented a Theory of Constraints-based Last Planner System, which included the following key elements:
- Project Integrated Team (PIT) meetings to foster alignment across all stakeholders.
- Six-week look-ahead planning to anticipate issues before they arise.
- Weekly work plans to ensure on-the-ground accountability.
- Daily pull planning sessions to adjust in real-time and keep installation efforts on track.
This structured, collaborative approach helped new teams understand the exact sequencing and timing required for a successful cleanroom tool install. Our project coordination efforts paid off, as we were able to deliver a major milestone that set the tone for the rest of the project.
Now that the first tool has been installed, we’re focused on continuing construction, supporting additional tool installations, and ensuring seamless commissioning. Just as important, we’re helping transfer critical knowledge to the regional workforce so that we can build local capabilities that will last long after this fab is fully operational.
Once complete, this project will do more than increase production capacity for our client. It will help position India as a competitive force in global semiconductor manufacturing. The facility will generate thousands of high-skilled jobs, spark the growth of a local supply chain, and attract further investment – all while supporting the local government’s ambitious goals.
