AM Technical Solutions (AMTS) is uniquely positioned in the high-tech construction industry to deliver exceptional quality and innovative solutions for complex, capital-intensive Life Science projects.
We are currently supporting a global healthcare and medical technology leader as they expand their U.S. facility to improve patient outcomes. Our team has been tasked with providing commissioning services for the relocation of lab spaces to a new building.
We understand the complexity and fast-paced nature of the Life Science industry, which is why we employ several advanced methods and tools to safely deliver on time, within budget, and of the highest quality level for each project. Find out how we plan to execute the scope to support our client’s project goals.
Project Scope for Lab Commissioning Services
Our work specifically involves startup and commissioning services and a solvent tank upgrade. We will leverage 25+ years of relevant experience and an integrated commissioning delivery method, “cellularization,” to drive our efforts throughout the project life cycle.
This approach focuses on creating an efficient workflow within the project teams to eliminate waste, enhance safety, and ensure “first-time-right” system commissioning and qualification, which is critical for projects regulated by the FDA and international health agencies.
The project scope includes various phases and deliverables to ensure the successful launch of the new lab space:
- Construction Submittal Review Administration
- Receipt Verification
- Pre-Functional Installation Verification
- Functional Test of Equipment
- Verification of Critical Equipment (Mechanical/HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing-Generation & Distribution).
- Commissioning Plan
- Commissioning Summary Report
To support the execution of each phase, we will be sourcing core team members and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to work directly with our client and the trades. The assigned professionals include Architectural and Design Engineers, Cleanroom Construction and Performance Self-Performed Team Members, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) experts, and Facility and Process Automation leaders.
We are also prepared to provide self-performed functions that can add value to the project. For example, we will look for ways to seamlessly integrate our work into the Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) program plan and execution to support the timeline.
Our innovative approach includes using Lean principles to deliver high-value productivity and ensure alignment with FDA requirements, industry standards, and client procedures. Because our approach is collaborative and flexible, we can scale to our client’s needs and help reduce risk throughout each phase.
“We have a strong track record of completing multi-phase Life Science projects while meeting aggressive safety, schedule, cost, and quality goals,” says Scott Lessard, VP, Life Science. “We are committed to helping our client operate a world-class medical research facility, which will significantly enhance the lives of countless medical patients.”
