Strengthening a Semiconductor Facility with a Ceiling Reinforcement Project

Semiconductor facilities are inherently complex. Every detail matters to ensure the continuous production of critical components. That’s why it helps to have a high-tech construction partner ready to deliver key reinforcements of the facility.

Our team at AM Technical Solutions (AM) was recently awarded critical ceiling reinforcement project scope to support one of the leading high-tech companies in the United States. We will be performing specific tasks at their semiconductor wafer fabrication site to ensure the facility can continue to produce wafers at a high level.

Our Scope for the Ceiling Reinforcement Project

The primary focus of this project will be to procure and install a specified number of Extreme Load Compensators (ELCs) and additional hanger supports at two locations in the semi facility. The installation must align with our client’s ceiling drawings and ceiling grid system.

Additionally, we will procure and install a number of ELCs and ceiling hanger supports in two nearby bay areas. At each bay location, our team will be responsible for performing an inspection, preparing a report on the condition of the bay area, and verifying that the installed track is properly supported above the ceiling.

To ensure we complete the project in accordance with our client’s requirements, we will self‑perform all high-tech construction work with qualified personnel and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Having tight control over project quality, schedule, and safety will create built-in accountability throughout the project’s life.

Also, because we maintain internal NEBB cleanroom certification capabilities, we will be able to validate that both the design and the final installation of the ELCs and hanger supports meet or exceed the certification criteria. This alignment between design intent, field installation practices, and certification requirements will significantly reduce risk and help avoid costly rework.

By controlling the critical elements of design, installation, and certification, we are confident we will deliver predictable outcomes for our client. The result will be a stronger semiconductor production facility capable of supporting the safe and efficient production of wafers.
