Supporting Semiconductor Production with a Vibration Isolation Pedestal Installation

Semiconductor cleanrooms are complex environments where every detail matters. One o vital component is the proper installation of vibration isolation pads and tool bases. Without this foundation, sensitive tools cannot perform at the required accuracy for  semiconductor manufacturing.

At AM Technical Solutions (AM), we bring decades of experience in cleanroom construction and tool installation. Our teams understand that a project’s success depends on technical expertise, precise execution, and careful coordination.

We are currently supporting a global semiconductor company with a vibration pedestal isolation pad installation project at one of their U.S. facilities. Completing this project through our “first time right” approach will ensure that our client can safely and efficiently support their production needs.

Optimizing the Cleanroom Environment Through Vibration Pedestal Enhancements

We were contracted to supply the labor and materials necessary to install a vibration pedestal and isolation pad inside the semiconductor cleanroom. Executing our scope of work will require a carefully executed plan to ensure the stability and isolation of the equipment base:

  • Tool Base Installation: We will provide and install one tool base inside the cleanroom to ensure the long-term durability and stability of the equipment.
  • Access Preparation: To move the tool base into position, we will remove a set of double doors and reinstall them once the base is set up.
  • RMF Removal and Base Placement: Our team will remove the raised metal floor (RMF) where the new base will be installed. Once set, the base will be shimmed, leveled, and grouted to align with the existing RMF.
  • Isolation Frame Installation: To ensure proper vibration control, we will install an angle frame around the base, which will help isolate vibrations and protect tool performance.
  • Floor Reinstallation: When the base is secured, we will reinstall the RMF using the existing floor tiles, stringers, and pedestals.

This installation project will support the long-term success of our client’s production activities in the cleanroom environment. A properly isolated and leveled tool base ensures vibration does not interfere with precision tools, safeguards product quality, and increases process reliability.

To ensure the project scope is executed according to the client’s requirements, we will provide a team on the ground led by a senior project manager with 20+ years of company experience. Our team will support every step of the project – from preparation to installation to cleanup – to help our client reach the highest standards of performance in their facility.
