AM Technical Solutions (AM) believes in the power of sports to make a positive difference in the communities where we work and live. We recently had the opportunity to be the title sponsor of a fundraising golf tournament associated with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA).
The AM Technical Solutions Junior at Southpointe Junior-Am Fundraising Tournament occurred August 7-10 at the Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. The golf tournament helped raise more than $23,000 for The Liberty National Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant.
The grant provides financial assistance to young golfers who are seeking to earn a college golf scholarship by playing competitive junior golf. Many of the world’s best junior players descended on Southpointe to showcase their abilities on the path to earning scholarship funds.
About the AJGA Fundraising Tournament at Southpointe
Since 2019, Southpointe Golf Club has hosted some of the world’s best junior golfers at their annual event. Our company was eager to link up with Southpointe to sponsor the fifth edition of the tournament, which brought together numerous juniors from across the globe.
The tournament featured players from five countries and 18 U.S. states, including 16 players from the host state of Pennsylvania. Six of the players are already committed to playing for a collegiate golf team.
The 78-player field competed in a three-round, 54-hole stroke play tournament. We are proud to recognize the following boys and girls junior winners.
- Ryan Liang: 2023 Boys Champion (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada).
- Grace Carter: 2023 Girls Champion (Jupiter, Florida).
In addition to providing title sponsorship support, our company was represented on the links. A handful of AM employees had the opportunity to play with some of the participating juniors. Our support helped AJGA accomplish its mission of supporting future golfers at the collegiate level.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to AJGA leaders Jacob Kennedy, Tournament Director, and Patrick Plank, Regional Director – Northeast, for spearheading a great tournament for a wonderful cause,” says Kelly McAndrew, AM Chairman and CEO. “We are pleased to have supported the golf community and positively impacted the lives of young golfers on their career journey.”
