Today, we are featuring Warriors Gaming, a ministry of Soldiers For Faith (SFF). Learn how Warriors Gaming uses the popular vehicle of video games to give children a sense of community, purpose, and direction.
Warriors Gaming: Breaking Down Silos to Build Friendships
Warriors Gaming is a faith-based initiative designed to bring kids – especially those with disabilities – together around something they love: video games. Rather than playing alone at home, children can come together in person to enjoy a community-focused, Christ-centered gaming experience.
Monthly, free events are held across the U.S., providing an environment where kids can connect, compete, and hear the message of Jesus in a way that feels natural and engaging. Each event includes organized video game tournaments, shared meals, and devotional messages that cover topics like character, friendship, and integrity while sharing the gospel.
Mentorship is a key element of the program. Young adult volunteers who also enjoy gaming spend time with the kids, modeling what it looks like to follow Christ through everyday actions – on and off the screen. This mentorship addresses a real gap in today’s culture, where many young people lack consistent guidance and role models.
The mentorship component of Warriors Gaming is especially impactful. These volunteers donate their time to form lasting relationships and demonstrate Christ-like values, such as:
- Sportsmanship and humility
- Friendship and teamwork
- Servanthood and integrity
- Consistency in faith and character
In addition to the live events, Warriors Gaming offers weekly Bible studies tailored for kids who want to dive deeper into their faith. The hope is that as children grow into teenagers and eventually young adults, the foundation laid through this ministry will help them navigate life’s challenges with resilience, community, and a strong spiritual core.
We are grateful to support a worthy cause that uses gaming to make a positive impact on the lives of children across the country. It’s an investment that will pay off years down the road when these young gamers apply the lessons learned in Warriors Gaming as adults.
