Senior Cleanroom Estimator (Construction)
We are looking for a knowledgeable Estimating professional with extensive previous self-performed cleanroom construction expertise to support a variety of high-technology clients of ours within the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. This position is responsible for the preparation of budgets, bids, and rates in addition to interpreting drawings, blueprints, and specifications, soliciting contractors, performing ‘take offs’, writing project scopes of work, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Request, review and evaluate bid packages.
- Attend pre-bid meetings or walk-throughs as necessary.
- Analyze drawings and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Ability to provide value-engineering options as necessary.
- Compile estimates and detailed bid proposals and follow-up on bids submitted.
- Attend scope reviews meetings to discuss scope of work with general contractors.
- Build strong positive relationships with customers, vendors, and company personnel.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- 8+ years Project Management or Estimating role in the Construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, activities, and principles.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing.
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Good problem solving and critical thinking skills with ability to take proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Strong negotiation and math skills are required.
- Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
- Knowledge of construction specification documents including the document flow process.
- Ability to read architectural drawings and written specifications.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Finance, Engineering, or related field preferred.
