We recently attended the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway to join Austin in honoring fallen soldier and NASCAR fan, Army Sgt. Brett Gornewicz.
For this race, the No. 22 AM Technical Solutions Toyota carried the colors of The Brett Gornewicz Foundation on the lower hood and bed cover. This organization was founded by four servicemen who served alongside Sgt. Gornewicz and raises money to support veterans of Gornewicz’ hometown, Buffalo New York.
Joining us in the stands were Brett’s parents, Jack and Margaret Gornewicz, along with longtime friends of AMTS, Roger and Liz Hendrick of Hendrick Construction, a leading general contractor providing construction services throughout the Southeast.
“AMTS greatly respects the men and women who fight for our freedom. Army Sgt. Brett Gornewicz made the ultimate sacrifice, and we were proud that Austin and his team chose to honor him on the track that day,” says Dan Codi, CEO of AMTS
Austin’s next race is The Rattlesnake 400 on Friday, June 10th at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, TX. You can watch the race on Fox Sports 1 or follow AM Racing and Austin Wayne Self at https://www.awsracing.com/
