When Joe Anderson, area director of Fair Park Young Life mentioned he had a group of high school kids interested in attending the NASCAR races at the Texas Motor Speedway, we jumped on the opportunity to provide free tickets and give these kids a fun-filled day.
And because AMTS is a long-time sponsor of Camping World Truck Series driver, Austin Wayne Self, the kids also received special access to pre-race practice and were able to cheer on Austin as he recorded a career best 13th place finish.
Young life is a multicultural ministry focused on mentoring and building friendships with kids in diverse cultural communities and those in economically-depressed areas. It’s the largest ministry of its kind and has improved countless lives since 1941.
“Young Life is an awesome group. It was a privilege to treat these kids to a day at the track, and we look forward to continuing our involvement,” says Tim Glasson, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
