AM Technical Solutions (AM) is committed to the long-term success of our employees and making a longstanding impact in our communities. That’s why we are excited to highlight Arturo Garcia, whose story captures both our commitment to employees and communities.
Arturo is currently a construction manager for our company. He manages the trades supporting the installation of tools for one of our semiconductor clients, enabling the client to efficiently create wafers at their facility. The exciting part of the story is how Arturo grew into this role.
Arturo first came in contact with our company several years ago through the RBI Austin program. As part of our commitment to the Central Texas community, we have supported RBI Austin since 2013 and sponsor their annual “Now At Bat” fundraiser event.
Arturo was one of the first players to participate in RBI Austin. At a clinic that our company sponsored, Arturo came in contact with a member of the AM leadership team, Tony Manti, who provided guidance to help Arturo start his career in the construction industry.
As Arturo continued to grow in his career, he developed new professional capabilities and leadership skills that enabled him to advance to a construction manager role.
“Because of all the people I met and all the opportunities, it helped me get out of my comfort zone and become a better leader at AM,” Arturo says. “RBI definitely contributed to that. I wasn’t very outspoken. I was very quiet and RBI helped me be more confident in myself, and that translated to AM.”
How Arturo Garcia is Giving Back Through RBI Austin
As RBI Austin continues to grow, there are even more opportunities to support the next wave of kids in Central Texas who will follow Arturo’s career path.
Right now, Arturo is giving back by staying involved in the program every year. If there is an RBI clinic, he will help out with coaching, assisting, and getting things ready for the participants. If he is asked to speak at an event, he will readily attend.
During this year’s “Now At Bat” event, Arturo shared this story about how RBI Austin helped kids like him develop life skills through baseball. We were extremely proud to see Arturo on-stage as one of the speakers inspiring others to get involved in the program.
“I do this for the young people who are following my footsteps and hearing my story,” Arturo says. “I want to give back because I’ve been given so much. I want other young people to have the same opportunities that I had. By preaching my story, it can inspire them to go farther than I went. It just makes me feel good to help people.”
