AM Technical Solutions (AM) recently won project scope to support a leading biopharmaceutical company with the utilization of critical resources that are necessary for manufacturing at their facility on the East Coast.
We were the right company for this project because of our ability to provide subject matter expertise and complementary high-tech construction services to holistically address the manufacturing challenge that our client was facing.
Additionally, we needed to be able to meet a specific timeline challenge providing this biopharm project solution. The client needed this solution to be delivered in approximately 6 weeks because of time-to-market concerns and needing to make data-based investments and operational business decisions.
Through our innovative approach, we delivered the solution on time and under budget for our client, with full delivery of the intended scope of the project. Specifically, we helped the client streamline their schedule and use software to provide options for optimizing the manpower, equipment availability, materials, and time elements of their process.
Why AM Was Selected For This Biopharma Utilization Project
Our company has decades of experience in the process and systems optimization arena. We have also built a level of trust in the industry and with this particular client.
We established this trust through years of high-tech construction project delivery for biopharma projects. Having hands-on experience in operating manufacturing facilities is an important element in providing the right structure for constructing the framework for manufacturing.
For this particular project, our proven approach enabled a flexible framework that will meet the needs of the facility as the complexity increases with product mix and process step increases. The framework will enable analysis of various product and process scenarios that are needed for business decisions.
Through the work of our team led by Eric Kauffman (Vice President of Product Development and Deployment) and Amanda Christiansen (Project Coordinator), we were well-positioned to execute the scope to the exact specifications:
- Capture all operations across all manufacturing suites at the site.
- Build model variants for scenarios based on constraints, assumptions, and demand forecasts.
- Identify bottlenecks, such as equipment or staff.
- Address scenarios related to staffing/labor, shifts, and equipment availability.
We are also well-positioned to continue working with the client on future project deliverables. We are capable of delivering a fully integrated schedule that the client can apply and use as their daily operations production schedule, which will bring tremendous value to the facility.
This capability is vital to any manufacturing facility, as it will be utilized on a daily basis to provide scheduling of all manufacturing resources. In addition, it has the ability to assess the business impact of modeling alternative products and processes for cost/benefit analysis.
“We appreciated the opportunity to provide an innovative solution to our client that will pay off for years to come supporting their manufacturing activity,” says Brian Williams, SVP, AM Life Sciences. “Through our collaborative approach and deep industry expertise, we are proud of our team for delivering on all three for our client — cost, time, and quality — that aligned with the client’s business objectives.”
