How 4:12 Kids Continues to Share the Love
Kevin and Charity Kittrell have a long history of ministering to youth who live in challenging circumstances. In 2016, we spotlighted their annual mission trip to Guatemala, where the Kittrells led a team of volunteers to care for the needs of kids living in a remote village.
Three years later, Kevin and Charity launched 4:12 Kids to help meet the needs of children in the Central Texas counties of Lockhart, Luling, and Caldwell. Through events and dedicated programs, the organization supports all aspects of a child’s life and applies biblical principles to help children understand their worth and value.
The Kittrells are driven by a desire to create a youth movement in the region. They are committed to helping kids develop positive speech toward their peers and family members, while conducting themselves in an upstanding manner.
Their vision ties back to the name of the organization, which is drawn from the biblical passage in I Timothy 4:12, which reads: “Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
4:12 Kids has carried out this vision and mission in so many different ways through the years. They have impacted countless children and families in the region. Just take a look at a few ministry highlights from 2023:
- Annual Easter Eggstravaganza: 2,000+ kids and family members attended.
- Baby Expo: 90 families with newborns were cared for and given free baby supplies.
- Education: Awarded a $1,500 scholarship to a young lady who was the first person in her family to attain higher education.
- Back-to-School: 850+ children were provided with new backpacks filled with school supplies.
- Thanksgiving: More than 1,000 Thanksgiving meals were distributed to local families.
This is just a small sample of the community impact. 4:12 Kids supported kids and families in so many ways to the point where the organization was recognized with the 2023 Best of Caldwell County Non-Profit Award for the third year in a row! What an amazing honor.
Because 4:12 Kids is volunteer-led, it relies on the support of donors and local volunteers to continue handing out supplies, organizing events, and providing other services to the community. In fact, volunteers gave more than 1,000 hours of their time in 2023 to help.
We encourage you to join our company in supporting the Kittrells and 4:12 Kids. Your financial support and your time are invaluable in helping the organization continue to make a positive impact in the community. Whether it’s through donating supplies, attending events, or volunteering your time, every little bit helps.
