AM Technical Solutions (AM) is proud to partner with top-ranked higher education institutions across the U.S. to support their latest high-technology needs. One of our objectives is to help colleges and universities advance their nanotechnology research capabilities.
As the demand for smaller, faster, and more efficient technology increases, nanotechnology has emerged as a cutting-edge field with endless potential. With its wide range of applications, one of the leading technology universities in the country asked us to consult on their operations to identify areas for growth.
The university requested that we provide experienced Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to conduct a high-level review of several different projects. We anticipate delivering this project according to the school’s timeline to support their critical research.
Our Support of Nanotechnology Research for the University
Nanotechnology is an exciting field that relies on very complex research. The smallest error or inefficiency can have a significant impact on results and outcomes. That’s where our experts can help by reviewing the performance of their operations.
Our specific project scope for this consulting project includes reviewing the following aspects of their facility:
- Waste Collection and Treatment Systems: Assess the functionality, best practices, and safety practices, then provide recommendations on the optimal methodology for their current haul and treat procedures.
- Point of Use Exhaust Abatement Systems: Replace burn boxes to reduce carbon footprint affecting a catalyst abatement system.
- Cleanroom Safety: Determine the best steps to replace gas cabinets in an existing gas room.
To support the initial project work, we will send multiple SMEs to conduct an on-site tour of the existing facilities, equipment, and tools. We will work with the school’s schedule to ensure we perform the review without disrupting research in the building.
During the site visit, our SMEs will work closely with school representatives to review the tools and cleanroom, manufacturing and lab space, and other aspects of the facility. We will then make first-hand assessments of the school’s ability to accommodate the desired improvements.
Once we complete our review, we will provide our client with a site report detailing the site visit, our findings, and the appropriate next steps. Included in our report will be recommendations for each item in the project scope.
We will also meet with the operations team at the university to review other potential projects and make plans for follow-up services that flow from our recommendations from this consulting project.
“This is an exciting opportunity to provide one of the top institutions in the U.S. with expert recommendations for expanding their nanotechnology capabilities,” says Mark Alavi,
Director of Engineering. “We believe this is the start of a multi-project relationship to deliver more value to the school through our high-tech construction expertise.”
