United Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, is making a difference throughout Arizona by supporting families in need. Each month, 12,500+ kids and 6,000+ seniors rely on United Food Bank to receive meals.
AM Technical Solutions (AM) decided to step in and partner with United Food Bank to support their ongoing need. As part of our company’s “Cause a Quarter” initiative, the AM team in Arizona held a canned food drive to gather food, baking supplies, and grocery items.
From February 10 through March 11, we filled up as many boxes as possible with canned fruits and vegetables, cereals, peanut butter, rice, pasta, and other food supplies.
In total, our team filled 7.5 boxes full of food. We donated the boxes to the United Food Bank location in Mesa, Ariz. to help them meet their most pressing need in the community.
More Ways to Help United Food Bank
We appreciate the exceptional effort from our team in Arizona to support United Food Bank. There is more work to do, though, to help residents in Arizona.
Consider that 1 in 5 children struggles with hunger in Arizona, and 1 out of every 8 people across the entire state need meal assistance. To address this need, United Food Bank distributes 75,000 meals on a daily basis.
The effort requires tremendous staff and volunteer support. In 2020, United Food Bank relied on 6,000+ volunteers that gave more than 30,000 hours of service to help collect food, transport meals, or deliver meals to Arizona residents.
“Throughout our company history, we have looked for opportunities to cheerfully share our blessings with others,” says Tim Glasson, Chief Development Officer. “The ‘Cause a Quarter’ initiative reflects our commitment to giving back to our local communities and making a positive impact on the lives of families.”
– If you live in the Mesa, Arizona area, consider partnering with United Food Bank to continue supporting this cause by volunteering your time.
– If you live outside of Arizona, consider making a donation. Every $1 donated helps provide 5 nutritious meals to residents in need. A donation will quickly add up to provide meals to children, seniors, and families in Arizona.
