AM Technical Solutions (AM) is proud to celebrate our Chief Technology Officer, Abbie Gregg, as a recipient of the 2026 SEFA Lifetime Achievement Award. This honor recognizes her four‑plus decades of leadership, innovation, and service in advancing cleanrooms and high‑tech facilities worldwide.
An MIT graduate in Metallurgy and Materials Science, Abbie has built her career at the intersection of semiconductor process engineering, facility design, and operations. From early engineering and director‑level roles to leading her own firm and now serving as an AM Executive Advisor, she has consistently been the person organizations call when the environment has to work right.
Known across the industry as “The Queen of Cleanrooms,” Abbie has combined deep technical rigor with a simple conviction: people deserve better cleanrooms and facilities to do their best work safely and effectively.
Abbie will be formally recognized by SEFA at the Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 12, 2026, during the SEFA Annual Conference in Miami. Learn why Abbie is the ideal candidate for this incredible recognition.
Recognizing a Lifetime of Impact in High-Tech Facilities
Nearly 40 years ago, Abbie launched a specialized architecture, engineering, and consulting practice, Abbie Gregg, Inc. (AGI), focused on cleanrooms, hazardous process materials, advanced imaging, and additive manufacturing.
Combining her time with AGI and our company, she has supported more than 900 advanced‑technology projects for university, government, and industrial clients across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and South America – helping teams plan, design, and operate safer, higher‑performing environments.
Abbie’s key contributions that align with the SEFA Lifetime Achievement criteria include:
- Longevity in leadership across semiconductor and advanced‑technology facilities
- Entrepreneurial success founding and growing a global consulting practice
- Innovation in tools and methods that improve facility decision‑making and performance
- Industry presence and service through SEFA advisory work, standards committees, and event participation
- Mentorship of engineers and practitioners across operations, design, and construction
Abbie’s work spans wafer fabs, MEMS, flexible electronics, nanotechnology, photovoltaics, and flat panel display (FPD) manufacturing and R&D facilities – often at critical inflection points such as technology transfer, ramp‑up, and yield improvement. She has also advanced the industry’s capabilities with practical tools like FabTech, a database/software system for computer‑aided cleanroom and advanced lab layout and utility design, and cost‑of‑ownership tools such as “eValuate” for FPD manufacturing economics.
Within SEFA, Abbie serves on the Advisory Board and has been an active contributor to multiple SEFA standard‑writing committees, as well as a Lab of the Year judge, helping elevate best practices across lab and cleanroom environments. Beyond SEFA, she is a recognized speaker and author, having chaired major industry conferences and published widely on cleanrooms, manufacturing economics, automation, and facility planning.
A defining thread through Abbie’s career is her commitment to mentorship and talent development, including academic and governance roles such as serving on the Accreditation Committee for Chemical Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU), always with a focus on enabling safer, more effective environments for the people who work in them.
“Abbie Gregg’s career represents the full spirit of the SEFA Lifetime Achievement Award: sustained leadership, entrepreneurial achievement, practical innovation, influential industry presence, and deep commitment to mentorship and excellence,” says Sandeep Davé, AM Chief Business Officer.
“Her work has strengthened the semiconductor and advanced‑technology ecosystem globally by improving how highly technical environments are conceived, executed, and operated, creating lasting benefit for organizations, teams, and the industry at large.”
